Indush is a learning platform for students in Classes 2 to 12, with AI help, tests and exam preparation, and a studio where teachers run their own pages. Many of our students are children, so we keep to what we need and explain it plainly. This page says what we collect, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do.

1. What we collect

  • Your account: your name and email, and a password (stored only in scrambled form — we cannot read it), or, if you use "Continue with Google", the name and email Google shares with us.
  • Your profile: your class, board, stream (Classes 11-12), teaching language, your username, and — only if you add one — a parent or guardian's email.
  • Contact details: only if you add them in Settings — a mobile number and an address (for a student, a parent or guardian's mobile and the home address; for a teacher, their own mobile and institute address). Only you can see them; other students and visitors cannot. After you pay a teacher's page, that teacher can see the mobile number saved in your Settings (a parent's number, if you are a child), for as long as your subscription runs and for 30 days after it ends, so the teacher can reach you if something goes wrong with the payment or your access. You can remove the number in Settings at any time. The address is never shared.
  • What you do on Indush: tests you take and your scores, chapters, videos and PDFs you open and how far you got, the days you were active and roughly how many minutes you studied, Scholar attempts, items you save to your Library, reviews and likes you post, the ratings and reviews you give teachers, and the questions you ask the AI.
  • If you are a teacher: your page name, bio and subject, what you upload (video links, PDFs, exams, homework, announcements), and which students subscribe to your page.
  • Payments: we never see or store your card or bank details — the payment company handles them. We keep the amount, status and the payment company's reference numbers. A teacher also adds the UPI ID or bank account where Indush sends their earnings; only that teacher and Indush's payments team can see it.
  • Your browser: small files (cookies) that keep you signed in, and one setting remembering the video quality you picked. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers.

2. How we use it

  • To run Indush: sign you in, show the syllabus for your class, track your progress and give you tests.
  • To answer your questions and build practice papers with AI (see section 4).
  • To take payments and give you access to what you have paid for.
  • To send you emails about your account (such as a password reset) and, if a parent email was added, a weekly progress summary to that parent.
  • To keep the service safe and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show advertising, and we do not track children's behaviour for advertising or profiling.

3. Who else handles your information

We use trusted companies to run parts of Indush. They handle data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — our database and sign-in. Our database is in India (Mumbai).
  • Vercel — hosts the website.
  • Google — "Continue with Google" sign-in, and the Gemini AI that writes answers and practice papers and reads lessons and summaries aloud.
  • Razorpay — online payments.
  • Resend — sends our emails.
  • YouTube — teachers add YouTube videos; they play in YouTube's own player, so YouTube may collect data as its own policy describes.

Teachers and other students. A teacher whose page you subscribe to can see your name, your class and which of their exams were assigned to you or completed, and the scores you got in those exams (per subject, as an average). They cannot see your other scores, such as practice tests or other teachers' exams. Comments you post on a teacher's content can be seen by that teacher and the page's other subscribers. A review you write about a teacher (your name, your stars and what you wrote) can be seen by every signed-in Indush user; the average rating, without names, is shown to everyone. Nobody else can see your scores or activity.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of students and the service.

4. AI features

When you ask a question, or use AI lessons and tests, the text of your question and the relevant chapter or PDF text is sent to Google's Gemini AI to produce the answer or paper. Lesson lines and summaries may be sent to Google to be read aloud. Please do not type private details (phone numbers, addresses, passwords) into questions.

Speaking and listening. If you press the microphone to ask a question by voice, your browser (Chrome and Edge use Google's speech service, Safari uses Apple's) turns your voice into text on its own. Indush never receives or stores your voice recording — only the words that appear in the text box, which are sent only if you press Send (or, for younger students, when you finish speaking). Your browser asks for microphone permission first, and you can switch it off any time in the browser settings. The "read aloud" buttons use your device's own voice.

AI can be wrong. Treat answers as help, and check them with your textbook or teacher. To answer faster, we may keep a question and its answer for a chapter and reuse it for other students; this stored copy does not include your name. Summaries are kept and reused the same way, and you can mark an answer "Not helpful" so it is no longer reused.

A teacher's contact details. A teacher can choose to show their email and mobile number on their page and card; if they do, every signed-in Indush user can see them, but visitors who are not logged in cannot. A student who has started a payment to a teacher or paid them can always see that teacher's email and mobile number, so the two can reach each other about the payment.

What teachers see. A teacher can see, without names, how many different students asked about their notes and, when at least 5 students did, a few of the questions asked. A teacher can also see, without names, when at least 5 students of the same class scored below 50% on the same chapter of an exam the teacher assigned. Individual questions are never shown with a student's name.

We also save your own questions, the answers you were given and your summaries for 6 months, so you can find them again when you reopen a chapter. Only you can see them. You can delete all of them any time from Settings → Privacy and your data, and they are removed automatically after 6 months.

5. Children and parents

Students under 18 should use Indush only with a parent or guardian's permission. Parents can ask us to show, correct or delete their child's information, or to stop the weekly summary email, at any time.

The weekly summary (streak, days active, tests taken and subject-wise scores) goes only to the parent email the student added, and only after that parent has confirmed the address from a link we email them. Every summary has a link to stop it at any time. If it reaches someone who should not get it, they can also ask us to remove that address.

If a student later changes or removes an address that the parent had confirmed, we email that parent once to say so. We cannot check that an address really belongs to a parent, because the student chooses it — which is why the address must be confirmed by whoever owns it, and why they can always stop the emails.

6. Your choices

  • From Settings you can change your name, class, username, password and parent email, sign out of your other devices, and download a copy of your information. You can ask us to correct anything else.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and information.
  • If you gave permission for something, you can take it back; this does not undo what already happened.

We keep your information while your account is active. When you ask us to delete it, we do, except records we must keep by law (for example payment records).

7. Keeping it safe

Information travels over encrypted connections, access to it is limited by who you are (a student sees only their own records), and staff access is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security, so please keep your password private.

8. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
